Thompson Park, Watertown NY is a gorgeous place for family photography in Jefferson County. If you are from the area you may have taken advantage of this historic site and its beauty is has to offer. If you are looking for fall family photos, Thompson Park has been listed as one of the top places upstate NY to see during the Autumn peek.
This family photography session in Jefferson County was done during the summer golden hour at Thompson Park. The park has so much to offer beyond great spots to capture family photography. Trails loop in and around for leisure activities and exercises, and you can view the City of Watertown from several spots. Thompson Park offers a swimming pool, tennis court, zoo, playground and a skating rink all for family activities! I need to plan a day to take my children there just to explore.
What made us choose Thompson Park for the family photography location was the unique set of stairs. Nana had set up the session, scouted the location and had a vision of her gorgeous 8 grandchildren, all 6 years and younger, pictured on a set of stairs. So we went for it!
The kids did great! They had a lot of energy to burn and provided some great expressions with it. Together, there were 3 separate families with children plus Nana. I really loved the time I spent with this great family and rewarded the kids with special monster cupcakes when we were all done. That’s when I got to get the five older grandbabies sitting with the suns setting in front of them. And I didn’t have to pose any of them!
Family photography is so important. Our children grow so fast in a year’s time. Each year offers new milestones. Having mom and dad and even grandparents in the photos will mean the world to your children in years to come. Having a portrait of the family, well dressed, gorgeous lighting and a great location will be one you will want to hang on your walls and enjoyed every day for generations. It will be a conversational piece with your friends when you entertain. See more of my family sessions in the gallery.
