The sparkles, the glitter, the gold! Every little girl's dream. Dancing in the magic, watching it fall all around you. It's like you have a Fairy God Mother and she's granting you your dream! The girls giggled all though out the sessions. And of course it was a chorus of giggles because I had 3 to photograph. They helped toss the glitter, blow it on each other and even chased each other through the hall with it. No since in not having fun. They are children after all. Let's let them enjoy themselves in their fantasies.
I love shooting children's photography in Oswego, NY. Whether it is in a controlled environment with lights and prompts or we are out in the wildflowers or down by the creek. When I child can imagine things differently they glow and their true smile and personality comes out for the camera. The biggest complement I can receive is a mom saying, you "caught their smile" "that is the real them'. That is what every mom wants in her child's portrait. She doesn't want a fake "cheese" or the perfect pose. She wants her child to look like the one she loves.
While shooting the second glitter session, I had my sweet niece as my subject. I showed her the image of Rachel spinning with the glitter floating around her. "Would you like a picture like this?" Kind of a dumb question to ask. We dressed her up in her Aunt's old white lace dress, and another Aunt gave her an elegant up do. She was so perfect. She gracefully swayed the lace gown back and forth with her hand extended as if she was dancing at the ball. She belonged in the world she was dreaming up and loving every minute of it. This is what I aim to capture.
Glitter sessions have so much to offer. Mom's fall in love with their children's happiness in the photo and the little girls are loving the fairytale world they get to play in.
Dreams don't come true everyday. Sometimes we have to make them happen. For 1 day only, I will be offering the glitter sessions. Limited spots available. Sign your daughter, granddaughter, nieces, whoever up before the clock runs out. Here's your link to do so.
