When you are asked to photographer and engagement session where the bride to be isn't aware that you are going to be there, let alone that he is going to ask you. Sometimes being sneaky can be fun!
Salmon River Falls was the location chosen for the big event. There is an 110 foot decent to the bottom of the falls, but the amount of rain had raised the water levels so high that the trail was blocked off. We had a pretty intense river and the falls were rushing over the edge.
So if you can't propose at the bottom, you do so at the top. It was a cold day in May. Here in upstate NY Winter is always over when spring hits. It was cold enough to snow, and it did. Little flakes floated through the air as Zach kneeled down presenting a ring to Miss Brittany. It was a beautiful proposal and of course she said yes.
I have known the groom to be's family before he arrived so it was an exciting adventure to watch him propose on the cliffs of Salmon River Falls.
This fall I am planning maternity sessions here as the water will be very low and safer to venture into. It will be a gorgeous backdrop with the falls behind my subject.
